Light Court / 光庭

01 / THE QUESTION

What does the design respond to?

An inner court reorganizes shared living. Dining, kitchen and lounge share a core of daylight, while timber boundaries preserve a quiet retreat.

02 / DESIGN DECISIONS

Making atmosphere through decisions.

01

A light mediator

An imagined inner court mediates daylight and views, exploring a gentler distance between the interior and nature.

02

A softer private boundary

Timber frames, translucent surfaces and a side passage distinguish shared and private areas while maintaining visual continuity.

03

Material continuity

Wood, mineral textures and quiet surfaces allow changing light to become the most expressive element.
